Why
It seemed a shame to let an old railway bench rot and not be put to good use

How
When we moved into our house we inherited odds and ends from the previous railway enthusiast owner. One such item was an old railway station bench. With two heavy bright green cask iron ends and some fairly rotten wood in-between. I had also noticed behind the shed some really old weather beaten solid planks of wood. It took me about 2 years before I put the two together and after some serious paint stripping on the cask iron legs and some reshaping on the wood - the railway bench had a new lease of life.
