Why
We had recently had a rotting Silver Birch taken down in the garden, we had kept the stump above ground as a hammock support but it needed a crown

How
As previously blogged I did actually cut a pew in half, well actually lopped of a third. The photo below shows some of the left overs put to good use as a bird table/house. I use this wood treatment from Wickes to treat most of our outdoor wood it's not cheap but lasts forever and the colour looks great.

This now crowns out old Silver Birch street stump and hammock support and has added a neat garden feature.
