Turning sticks found on the ground in woods and forest into walking staffs
Why
When attempting a long walk or going up fell or glen, a good staff is a must, it also looks the part compared to the ski polers from the mountain discount store!
How
Make sure you collect fallen sticks from the woodland floor, look for straightest available, maybe with a spur that can be used as a thumb hold. This is a great activity for a rainy day and really just a bit of fun. You can strip the bark or leave it, make patterns when removing and don't forget to carve in the location.
